Klaus-Dieter Althoff is Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Hildesheim, Germany, and head of the Competence Center Case-Based Reasoning at DFKI. His research focus includes modeling expertise in its different facets, knowledge engineering and extraction for CBR, distributed architectures with CBR, integration of CBR with various semantic technologies, deep integration between CBR and explanation reasoning, and learning expert systems.
Thomas Roth-Berghofer is Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the University of West London, England. He leads the Centre for Model-based Software Engineering and Explanation-aware Computing, which is based in the School of Computing and Technology. Together with Armin Stahl he initiated the development of myCBR, a state-of-the-art CBR tool and SDK as they missed an easy-to-use, up-to-date tool for teaching CBR classes, for experimenting, and for rapid prototyping in all sorts of projects.
Kerstin Bach is a post-doc at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Her main research interests include intelligent information systems, case-based reasoning, knowledge and experience management, software agents, knowledge modeling, as well as information retrieval. She is currently working on big data analysis and data-driven personalization.
Christian Severin Sauer is research assistant and phd student in the School of Computing and Technology at the University of West London. His research interests are in the fields of explanation-aware computing, case-based reasoning (CBR) and more general knowledge-based systems (KBS). Christian is also interested in context-aware and context-sensitive systems. Further he is researching within the fields of knowledge formalisation for KBS and knowledge extraction from data available in specific web communities.
